Beatrice Ann Courtney

Beatrice Ann Courtney, age 80, of Logan, Ohio, passed away February 17, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Beatrice was born February 14, 1941 in Athens, Ohio to Patrick Arthur and Irene Violet Largent. She was a well-known cook at Knotty Pine, Log Cabin, Carborundum, and Nicks Wine Shop; worked in the health care field; and was a strong Christian.

Surviving are her children, David (Pamela) Kilkenny of Union Furnace, Rebecca Reynolds of Logan, Mark (Marilyn Wilson) Kilkenny of Logan, Joanna (Steven) Carpenter of Logan, and Robbie (Melissa) Courtney of Carbon Hill; grandchildren, Derek, Kyle, Ronnie, Kevin, Colten, Heather, and George; 10 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; brothers, Harry & Jerry Largent; and many nieces and nephews.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert “Sonny” Kilkenny who passed away in 1964; her life-long companion, John Courtney; granddaughter, Angel Courtney; brother Patrick “Gunner” Largent; and sisters, Donna Kovacevich and Barbara Kay Newman.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., Monday February 22, 2021 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial was in Shaw Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.

Calling hours were observed 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday February 21, 2021, with an Eagles Memorial service at 7 PM, at the funeral home.

Mask and social distancing are required for visitation and funeral services.
