Derrick Ray “Smiley” Householder Jr., 27, of Logan, Ohio passed away August 3, 2018 at his residence. Derrick was born December 28, 1990. He loved to listen to music and liked to write music and rap songs; loved to make people laugh; was always a gentleman; and had a kind heart. Surviving are his mother, Jody (Charley) Hopkins of Logan; father, Derrick Ray Householder Sr. of Sugar Grove; sisters, Abby (Timothy) Penwell of Greenfield and Rayann Matheny; grandmother, Nancy Walter of Logan; grandfather, Ronald Householder of Logan; aunt, Kim Walter of Logan; special friend, Lois Elaine Cook of Sugar Grove; nieces, Madelyn and Mia; nephew, Malcolm; and many cousins. Derrick was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nelson Walter; grandmother, Scharlot Householder; and aunt, Andrea Ruff. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Michael Allen Hurst officiating. Burial was in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Thursday 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. The family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expense.
