Franklin E. Welch Sr.

Franklin E. Welch Sr., age 79, of Logan, Ohio, passed away July 30, 2021 at his residence.

Franklin was born February 5, 1942 in Powell, Ohio to Thurman Elmer Welch Sr. and Gladys Jeanette Welch. He worked for 32 years as an equipment operator for different townships. Franklin was a cofounder for the veteran’s memorial in Rockbridge, Good Hope Township. He loved to make crafts, especially crafts that had to do with woodworking. Franklin was loved by everyone he met and never met a stranger that he couldn’t talk to.                   

Surviving are his wife Thelma Welch; his children, Frankie and Jason Welch; step-children, Chuck Estep, Mike Eburt, and Ronnie McBide; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sonnie (Jackie) Welch and Sally Salzgaber; bothers-in-law, Tom Azbell, and Walter Beougher; and sister-in-law Mollie Welch.

Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Therman Elmer Welch Jr., Walter Welch, Henry Welch, Anna Azbell, and Rosie Beougher.

Graveside committal services started between 11:00-11:15 A.M., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio. A lunch was held for all following the graveside service.

Calling hours were observed on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:45am at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home Logan, Ohio.
