Howard McGarvey Sr., age 71, of “Thousand Oaks Genoa”, Galena , Ohio, passed away April 30, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Howard was born October 13, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to John Paul “JP” McGarvey and Thelma (Primmer) McGarvey. He loved his family, Thailand, and dogs; enjoyed frozen meals, cutting hair, playing guitar, talking on the phone, leaving voice mails, clapping, and dancing. Howard was patriotic and loved his country, the 4th of July, and President Trump.
Surviving are his son Howard (Sarah) McGarvey Jr.; fiancé Gay Lee Green; siblings, Lou McGarvey, Paul McGarvey, John McGarvey and Mary McGarvey; grandchildren, Howard McGarvey III, Jordan McGarvey, Noah John Paul McGarvey, Gracie Botos, Gabe Botos, and Gwen Botos ; and his dog “Pretty Girl” Lexy.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife Elaine A. Eckelbarger McGarvey “The Queen”; mother, Thelma (Primmer) McGarvey; and father John Paul “JP” McGarvey.
Private graveside services were held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Ohio.
