Jake A Sherritt, age 47, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away March 21, 2021 at O’Blenness Hospital, Athens, Ohio.
Jake was born October 31, 1973 in Logan, Ohio to Pat and Tonia Sherritt. Jake spent his life helping others. He was a proud volunteer fire fighter and ambulance transporter. He would give his own life to save and help others.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Sherritt; sons, Tristan Sherritt and Aaron Baker; mother, Tonia Sherritt; sister, Amie (Scott) McGlothlin; brother, Pat (Elizabeth) Sherritt; grandfather, Roger Burchfield; nieces, Brittany Sherritt, Alyssa Sherritt, Myranda Champ, and Tamera Colson; nephews, Austin McGlothlin, Bryce Sherritt, and Hunter McGlothlin; friends, Ty McCort, Billy Neel, Tony Warren, Chad Wolfe, and many other amazing friends; and dogs Joe, Tiny, and Hooch.
Jake was preceded in death by father, Pat Sherritt; grandparents, Elmer and Rosemary Sherritt; and dog, Axle.
Calling hours were observed at 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
Funeral services were held at 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating.
