Janice J. Hartley

Janice J. Hartley, 83, of Logan passed peacefully to her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2021.

She is survived by children, Robert (Trina) Hartley of Logan, James (Patricia) Hartley of Hebron, and Gwen (Wes) Harmon of Gibisonville; grandchildren, Tome Nielson, Bradley Hartley, Jillian Pittman, Jesse Harmon, Kylen Harmon, Desirae Bullock, and Heather Horsley; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Kole, Austin, Darrin, Isla, Oakleigh, Ezra, and Magnolia. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Pete Hartley; her parents, Sherman and Cora Lindsey; brother Leroy Lindsey; sisters, Esther Durst, Katherine Shannon, and Vera Lindsey; and a nephew, Leroy Durst.

She was a 1955 graduate of Logan High School; member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church; and a member of Senior Choir and Worship Committee. She was a former Bookkeeper for Cases Drug Store and Hartley Plumbing; formerly worked at the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation; and at Cussens & Fern.

Janice loved playing cards on Saturdays with the Silly Sisters; singing in the church choir; playing the organ; and watching birds and wildlife in her yard.

Funeral services were Friday July 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Logan, Ohio with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

Calling Hours were held 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Thursday at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio.
