Johnny Jay Peters

Johnny Jay Peters, age 69, of Logan, Ohio, passed away January 16, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Johnny was born November 8, 1951 in Laurelville, Ohio to William Herbert Peters and Betty Jean Peters. He was a member of the First Praise and Worship Center; served in the National Guard; and was owner and operator of John Peters Plumbing for over 50 years. Johnny always participated in the Logan Christmas Parade; and supported the Youth of Hocking County.              

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Cheryl Peters of Logan; son, Jason (Lyndsey) Peters of Logan; grandchildren, Nicole, Jacob, Timothy, Kaitlynne, and Johannah; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Austin (Sandra) Peters; sisters, Beverly (Howard F.) Schrader and Deborah Jane Haybron; twin sister, Jewell (Edward L.) Cavinee; and special brother-in-law Tim Helber.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents.

Private funeral services were held at the First Praise and Worship Center, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Mike Martin officiating. Burial was in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio, where Military Graveside Services were held by the Hocking County Honor Guard.

Walk through calling hours were observed on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 pm at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home Logan, Ohio. Due to the risk of COVID the family was not present.

Masks and social distancing are required for all who attend the walk through calling hours at the funeral home.
