Linda Kay Myers Bensonhaver Tatman

Linda Kay Myers Bensonhaver Tatman, age 82, passed away on October 18, 2021, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Linda was born on July 16, 1939, to John Jacob and Naomi Gail (Clark) Myers. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Church’s Choir, Altar Guild, Church Council and Women’s Group; a member of the Logan Business and Professional Women, for over 50 years; served as a 4-H leader of Union Furnace Livestock, for over 30 years; gave Family Scholarships to FFA Students, for over 20 years; and enjoyed attending military Turner Tank Reunions, with husband Jerry for over 17 years.

She also enjoyed reading traveling, hunting and being with family and friends; she was a 1957 graduate of Logan High School. She began working, at the age of 12, by babysitting; in high school she worked at Gribble’s Grocery on Elm Street and at Risch Drug Store. She attended Ohio University for 2 years and worked at the Farmers and Merchants Bank, where she met her first husband, Herschel Bensonhaver. After the bank, she worked in numerous jobs while raising a family – included were, Sears Roebuck as a cashier, Hocking County Engineer as payroll clerk, Hocking County Auditor as Chief Deputy Bookkeeper, Citizens Bank as computer operator, St. Matthew Lutheran Church as Secretary, and retiring in 2004 from Attorneys Drew Rolston and Steve Proctor, after working as a legal secretary for 18 years.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Tatman; daughters, Anita Ann Bensonhaver, Rhonda Kay (D.J.) Lantz, Lucinda Ann (Scott) Cordle, and Janina Lynn Bensonhaver; grandchildren, Bradley Cordle, Mitchell Cordle, Nicholas Cordle, Maeghan Cordle, and Clayton Cordle; Step-daughter, Angelia (Bud) Seum; step-son, William Tatman; step-grandchildren, Andrew (Tisha) Seum, and Nichole (Jon) Sigler; step-great-grandchildren, Noah Sigler, Eva Sigler, Andrew Seum Jr., and Kenneth Seum; sister, Carole Martin; brother-in-law, John Tatman; sister-in-law, Renee Lewis; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herschel Bensonhaver; and brother-in-law, Dennis Martin.

Calling Hours were Friday, October 22, 2021, from 4 to 7 pm at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio and one hour before the service at the church.

Funeral services were Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. Burial was in the Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, Ohio.
