Thomas Leroy Yates, age 87, of Logan, Ohio, passed away January 20, 2021 at his residence. The husband of Bonnie (Unger) Yates for 66 years. The father of 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Thomas was born April 22, 1933 in Hocking County, Ohio to Leroy Yates and Elisabeth Wintermute Yates. He served in the US Marine Corps in Korea; enjoyed life on the family farm; and was a man of few words, but, you were better off to listen when he had something to say.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson Aidian Thomas Smith; and many other relatives.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday January 24, 2021 at the Pine Grove Cemetery near South Bloomingville, Ohio with Pastor Sherree Cole and Rev. Daniel Fuller officiating. Military graveside services were held by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Arrangements are by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan. Masks and social distancing are required to attend.
