Virgil Delbert Smith, age 87, of Haydenville, Ohio, passed away July 18, 2022.
Delbert was born September 30, 1934, in Delaware, Ohio to Virgil Anthony Smith and Lucille Edith Barnett Smith. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Lake Logan Bass Club; and retired from Selkirk Metalbestos.
Surviving are his son Dane “Haydenville” (Mary) Smith of Logan; granddaughter Jennifer (Aaron) Guisinger of Lancaster; and his significant other, Linda Mouser.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Smith, who passed away August 1, 2008; son Delbert Casey Smith; brother Carl Barnett; and sister Carrie Bell Watkins.
Funeral services were held at 11 am Friday July 22, 2022, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
