Some battles that we fight in our mind are harder than any battles that can be seen.
On April 21, 2022, Doug “The Dogg” Hiles, of Lancaster Ohio, laid his weary head to rest, he won’t cry no more.
He took with him 118 days of sobriety, one of his greatest achievements.
Doug will be remembered for his huge grin and recognizable anywhere laugh.
He was the life of the party and played a mean air guitar. A few years back you could catch him in the ring, cage fighting with the love of his life Teyvia Reid. He also loved whippin up some homemade goodness in the kitchen.
Doug was an amazing father and an even better papaw.
His children Jeyden (Elizabeth), Gage and Grace (Billy) and his grandchildren Jazz, Kenzlee, Vega, Azariah, Xayden, Kasen and Judah were the sunshines of his life.
He took so much pride in being Papaw.
Doug was loved by so many friends and family, that to list them all, would be a never ending task.
Doug never knew a stranger.
No matter what battles he faced, he never forgot to tell his family how much he loved them.
Doug is missed beyond explanation, but today he is no longer a prisoner of his own mind, he is finally at peace.
Funeral services were held at 6:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio. Calling hours were held from 2 to 6 pm at the funeral home on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
