Rick A. Schein, age 70, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away February 6, 2024, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.
Rick was born April 14, 1953, in Logan, Ohio to Homer Schein and Ruby Mattingley Schein. He was self-employed at GAF Safety; retired from Kilbarger’s in Logan; was a diehard Ohio State Football, Logan Chieftains, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds fan; loved farming cattle and sheep; and enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn “Sissy” Schein, married 39 years; sons, Troy Day of Kentucky and Shawn (Mindy) Day of North Carolina; brother, Harold Schein of Lancaster; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Delaney; sister, Linda (Wes) Workman of Missouri; and several nieces and nephew. He loved his dogs.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, and aunts, Evelyn Schein and Ruth Schein.
Graveside services were held Saturday at 1:00 o’clock on February 24, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery near Rockbridge. A Celebration of Life followed the graveside services at 2:00 o’clock at the Home Tavern, 363 Gallagher Ave. Logan, Ohio 43138.
