Shannon Renee Mitchell, 44, of Murray City,
Ohio, left her earthly family to join her heavenly family on Saturday, December
1, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 5, 1974, in Athens County, Ohio to Victoria (Eugene) Mitchell
Duncan and David (Paula) Farley, who survives. She attended Hocking County
MRDD. She was home schooled at the age of 16 and was a graduate of Nelsonville
High School Class of 1992. She attended the Murray City Church of Christ. She
is a member of the Murray City Depot Committee. Shannon enjoyed vacations in
Florida, motorcycle side car rides, semi truck rides, and watching daddy cut
grass and cartoons.
She is survived by an uncle and aunt, Larry and Marlene Robinson Mitchell, whom
she lived with since the age of 8 months old. She called them daddy and mommy.
She loved them very much. She is also survived by sisters, Sandy (Dennis)
Quinn, Karen Walker, Laurie (Richard) Bonner, Melissa Mitchell, and Tonya (Ben)
Dalton; nieces, Beth (David) Hogue, Randi (Jason) Gannett, Andrea (Kevin)
Lindsey, and Taylor Fisk; and nephews, Anthony Quinn, Mitchell Coen, Brandon
(Barbie) Quinn, and Glen (Lindsey) Burchfield Jr.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Audrey
Davis Mitchell; and paternal grandparents, David and Marie Farley.
The family received friends on Monday, December 3, 2018, from 6 to 8 pm, and
Tuesday, December 5, 2018, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Brown Funeral
Home, Murray City, Ohio.
A celebration of Shannon’s life was held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 1:00
pm at the Brown Funeral Home. Eulogy was by Marlene Mitchell. Burial followed
in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
