Jerry Pettit, 78, of Glouster, Ohio, passed
away March 30, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Jerry was born November 28, 1939 in Hocking County, Ohio to Charles and Lola
Pettit. He was a coal mine and timber worker; loved music; and was a good
family man.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Mary Pettit of Glouster, whom he married on
October 3, 1961; son, Phillip M. Pettit of Glouster; daughter, Linda Lou (John)
Haines of Glouster; brothers, Chuck (Connie) Pettit of Logan, Phillip Pettit of
Glouster, and John Paul Pettit of Gallipolis; sisters, Sara Pettit of Glouster,
and Becky Fierce of Kerr, Ohio; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lefler of The
Plains, and Nancy Pettit of Glouster.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jerry Lee Pettit and Tony
Pettit; daughter, Loretta Pettit; grandson, Brian Pettit; brother, Derek
Pettit; and sisters, Sharon Burley, and Elaine Chauncey.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Brown
Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Pastor Elijah Brooks officiating. Burial
was in Hollister Cemetery, Hollister, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed Monday, April 2, 2018, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm
at the funeral home.
