Ted Wells, age 85, of New Marshfield, Ohio, passed away June 19, 2024, at Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro, Ohio.
Ted was born June 11, 1939, in Huntington, WV to Lewis and Nettie Wells. Ted was a true workaholic and loved helping people. He grew up working for his family’s logging and landscaping company, before going on to working on the railroad and then construction. Ted would go out of his way to haul supplies and do mowing for others and the elderly. Ted also loved to just spend time with his beloved family.
Surviving are children, Ted Wells Jr. (Ruth) and Craig E. Wells (Jamie); grandchildren, Ronnie Wells, Nathan Wells, Nicole Wells, Kate Nicholson, and Ryan Wells; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Noah Wells (Sue), Rose Minehart (Ken), and Alfred Wells (Linda); several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and co-workers through the years.
Ted was preceded in death by loving wife, Dell Wells; parents, Lewis and Nettie Wells; daughter, Teresa S. Wells; and siblings, Nora, Edward, Erma, Steve, Jack, Roy, and Rachel.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday June 25, 2024, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial followed at New Marshfield Cemetery, New Marshfield, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday June 25, 2024, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio prior to the service.
