Darrin S. Bryan

Darrin Scott Bryan, 55, of Logan, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.
He was born on Oct. 3, 1968, in Maysville, Kentucky to Dane and Ruth Ann Bryan, who survive him.
Darrin was a 1987 graduate of Logan-Hocking High School and excelled as a pitcher for the Logan Chieftains. He continued his education at Ohio University, majoring in photojournalism.
One of Darrin’s favorite statements was, “I wish the world could see what I see through my eyes and my lenses.” He worked in his beloved field from 1991 until his recent passing, winning numerous awards on local, state, and national levels, for images depicting life, nature, and events of all types.
Per his wishes as an organ donor, Darrin gave the gift of sight to two individuals, fulfilling his desire to see the world through renewed lenses.
Darrin had a strong commitment to community and served in the role of dispatcher at both the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office and 911 from 2012 to 2021. His passion was great to help others and aid in any way possible.
In May 2024, Darrin began his employment with MedComm / MedFlight as a communication specialist. Even though his time there was short, he loved serving in a new role to assist multiple people with medical needs in the state of Ohio.
His most important role was taking care of his treasured family, who meant everything to him. Darrin was a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his father and mother, Dane and Ruth Ann Bryan; wife, Shelley Mingus Bryan; sons, Tyler (Morgan Allen) Bryan, Colby (Madelynn Zarembka) Bryan, and Nolan Bryan; daughter, Jenna Bryan; sister, Tracey Newell, niece Lauren Bechtel, and nephews, Kyle and Patrick Newell; and grandchildren, Kezden Hunter Bryan, Aurora Jade Bryan, and Kayce Everett Alexander Bryan, who will arrive this autumn. He also leaves behind, to cherish his memory, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
He was a member of the Hocking Hills Church, Logan, Ohio. One of his favorite verses is Isaiah 40:31: (But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint).
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio. Friends and family were invited to gather on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at noon with Pastor Rodney Rogers officiating and casket bears including Darrin’s sons, Tyler, Colby and Nolan Bryan. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.
