Mary Jo Scott, age 96, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away August 8, 2024, at her niece’s home in Glouster, Ohio.
Mary Jo was born January 4, 1928, in Jobs, Ohio to Lewis J. Giffin and Maggie Archer-Giffin. Mary Jo worked for over 40 years at the Wright Patterson Airforce Base. She was a 1945 graduate of Murray City High School. Mary Jo used to attend the Jobs Church while it was still open and was a past Auxiliary member of the Fairborn Ohio American Legion. Mary Jo loved following the Nelsonville-York High School band and football team.
Surviving are her special niece, Donna Richmond; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews; and special friend, Kay Cherpeski.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Scotty” Scott; parents, Lewis and Maggie Archer-Giffin; grandparents, who raised her, George and Florence Archer; and brothers, Donald (Betty) Giffin and Russ (Donna) Giffin.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 A.M., Monday August 12, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville Ohio with David Shoemaker officiating.
