David Allen Walter, born March 28, 1958, has passed on to his final resting place on September 16, 2024. David was the son of Larry David Walter and Maryetta Wadsworth Barnes of Logan, Ohio. He lived his life how he wanted, and the joined the Navy and served two tours before returning to Logan, Ohio.
He developed many health issues, and our mother came in daily to check on him and help him in many ways. Before our mother passed away, she asked me to check and see if David would send a monthly donation to Samaritan’s Purse / Billy Graham’s son Franklin Graham’s organization to help everyone possible, as she always did. He didn’t hesitate to do this and always wanted to make sure it was sent to them in memory of our mother.
David loved skeet shooting on the weekends and being with his grandparents, Herbert and Mildred Walter and Ralph Wadsworth. Grandpa Wadsworth started picking him up every Friday night and would take him home with him in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio to stay the weekend. David made many friends there.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his sister Diane Walter Reid, and our Uncle Sonny Wadsworth.
David is survived by his sisters, Debbie (Tim) Wykle and Kelly Wolfe; brother, Thomas (Catherine) Wolfe of Lancaster; and aunt, Brenda Wadsworth. Also, a long list of nieces and nephews and all their children.
Funeral services were held at 1 pm Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial was at Asbury Cemetery where Military graveside services were conducted by The Hocking County Honor Guard.
Calling Hours were observed 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
We want to sincerely thank the Chillicothe VA, Hopewell House who have taken such good care of David for many years.
They were so much joy to David.
Rest in Peace to our brother, we will miss you.
