Richard Lee Evans, age 88, of New Straitsville, Ohio, passed away September 18, 2024, at peacefully ay home, surrounded by family.
Richard was born Decenber 17, 1935 in Haydenville, Ohio to Anna Mae Evans and William Evans, Sr. After graduating from Logan High School, in 1953, he served in the US Army. In 1958, he met his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth, and went on to have four children, Sherry Evans, David (Paula) Evans, Donna Evans, and Regina (Doug) Foster. In 1996 he retired from General Electric and spent his time gardening and reading his bible.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Mary Watson, William “Bill” Evans, Jr., Roy Evans, and George Evans.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Evans; four children; four grandchildren, Cassie, Chris, Justin, and Willie; several great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Grace Neal, Ralph (Melba) Evans, Anne Evans, and Ronald Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Ebeneser Baptist, Haydenville Campus Church, Haydenville, Ohio with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.
Calling hours will be observed 6 – 8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio
