Harry Wayne Courtney, age 81, of Logan, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family on September 28, 2024, at Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.
Wayne was born November 30, 1942, in Logan, Ohio to Harry J. Courtney and Wava A. Courtney. He worn many hats, including being a correctional officer until his retirement; U.S. Navy Veteran; former member of the Moose; and a member of the Eagles and the American Legion.
Surviving are his daughters, Melissa (Michael) Johnson of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee and Christine Courtney of Carroll, Ohio; grandchildren, Amy Beth Davis, Brittany Courtney, Matthew Johnson, Corey Johnson, and Cody Cook; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald J. (Betty) Courtney of Jackson, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Kenny Rheinscheld of Logan, Ohio.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Courtney; sister, Jean Rheinscheld.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Jack Johnson officiating. Military Honors, conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard, will precede the services.
Calling hours will be observed from 3 to 5 P.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the funeral home.
