Nancy Jean Whitney, age 82, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away October 2, 2024, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan, Ohio.
Nancy was born June 6, 1942, in Ironton, Ohio, to Johnny and Betty Mayenschein. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Logan, Ohio. She loved spending time with her family, going to ball games, watching the kids and grandchildren, spoiling them, and cooking and baking, especially with all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Keith Whitney; children, John (Brenda) Glenn, Terri Shriner (Jeff Morgan), Christy (Dennis) Olive, Craig (Allison) Whitney, Jaclyn Whitney-Lamphier; grandchildren, Brandon (Julie) Shriner, Johnda Glenn-Whitmore, Jessica Miller, Jacob (Dedra) Glenn, Amber Murphy, Tyler Chilcote, Derek Olive, Kaitlyn Olive, Joshua Berg, Jessie (Brigette) Berg, Christopher (Robyn) Whitney, Chuck Dicus, Stacy Dicus; great-grandchildren, Chase Miller, Jocelyn Shriner, Braden Shriner, Maddox Glenn, Paisley Glenn, Kami Hudnall, Kelsie Hatfield, Haley Dicus, Bryon Dicus, Sierra Lambert; great-great-grandchildren, Jordan Hudnall; brothers, Charles (Norma) Mayenschein, Carl (Doris) Mayenschein, Darrell (Betty) Mayenschein, David (Sherry) Mayenschein; sisters, Virginia Hackworth, Jonda (Jarvis) Chapman; and friends, Amanda Bryant, Amber Wright, Patricia Matteson, Tony Le.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Mayenschein; brother, James Rodney Mayenschein; and pets, Buddy and Connor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio with Kenny Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.
Calling hours will be observed from 2:00 – 4:00 PM to 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, October 7, 2024, and 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the funeral home.
