Shirley Carleen (Johnson) Coakley, 90, of Nelsonville, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 10:10 pm.
Shirley was born on May 30, 1934, in Athens, daughter of late Fred Maloney and the late Zella Johnson and stepdaughter of the late Homer Johnson.
Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Starr-Washington High School in Union Furnace. Shirley worked for Western Electric for several years, then as an aide at Lancaster Hospital, and finally at Rocky Boots for 20 years.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Michael Coakley (Julie) of Indiana and Marc Coakley (Kim) of Millersport, Ohio; daughter, Carol Williams (Steve) of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Joyce Coakley (Richard); grandchildren, Michael B., Michael L., Michelle, Cheyan, Tara, Caitlyn, Jessi, Bradley, Kevin, Justin and Morgan; and five great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, David Coakley, Richard Coakley and grandson, Chaz Coakley.
Graveside services are to be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio.
Arrangements are by the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio.
