Thomas L. Anderson

Thomas L. Anderson passed away on December 13, 2024, at The Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.

Tom was born April 1st, 1938, in Nelsonville, Ohio to his biological parents, Marie (Bias) and Johnny Anderson. Then following the passing of Marie, his mom and dad, Estella (Anderson) and George Tolliver, lovingly raised him.

Tom proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp from 1956-1958. He worked from a young age at the local bowling alley and bar tending around the Athens area. Construction work was Tom’s lifelong career, working on many large projects, including Tri-County JVS, OU Convocation Center, McBee, and the Hocking Mall. He also did maintenance and custodial services for many other companies.  Tom’s favorite time of his working years was being self-employed, helping local families and businesses, providing concrete work, painting, repairing, plumbing, cleanouts, and hauling services.

Tom was very expressive in his love for his children and grandchildren. He always made sure they knew it every time he saw or talked to them. He always said his kids had the best mother in the world, Mandy! Tom especially enjoyed his weekly visits from his grandchildren, Devigha and Charleigh who were Grandpa’s sweethearts.

Tom is survived by his pal (cat), Tino; children, George (Kym) Anderson, Jenny (Danny Davis) Clark, Bill Anderson, and Shanna (Vince) Koping; grandchildren, Daniel Anderson, Crystal Anderson, MacKenzie Anderson, Adea (Jeff) Lehman, Justin (Madison) Clark, Danielle (Keith) Throckmorton, Noah Anderson, Anthony Koping, Andrew Koping, and Tina Weir; great-grandchildren, Devigha, Charleigh, Madeline, Jeffrey, and Blake; brother, John (Debbie Rutter) Anderson; and sister Linda.
