Betty Marie Carpenter Schultz, 80, of Logan, Ohio, passed away on February 7th 2025 in Titusville, Florida.
Betty was born in Logan, Ohio to Fay Marie Hart and Earl Eugne Carpenter on July 3rd 1944. She attended Logan High School and graduated in 1962. She married Theodore James Schultz on October 10th 1964 at First Methodist Church in Logan, Ohio.
She attended Logan Hocking Technical College and worked as a real estate secretary for Shaw Real Estate for more than 20 years. She was a Western Union Telegraph operator. Her hard work was featured in an article in The Logan Daily News in the late 60s.
She moved to Titusville, Florida with her family in February 1989. There she worked at Excel and the microfilming company in Melbourne, Florida.
Betty enjoyed bird watching, nature, writing poetry, good music, lunch dates with her husband, and being home with her family. In their younger days, Betty and Ted used to go fishing on the weekends. She said she only caught little fish and she always threw them back into Lake Logan.
Betty was clever and funny. She was always kind and friendly to friends and strangers alike. She always had a smile and a great sense of humor. Betty saw the amusing side of everything and always told her daughter that her smile was very important to her.
Most of her daughter’s jokes were taught to her by her mother.
Betty is preceded in death by Tammy Dennis Schumacher (niece), Sandra Sue Carpenter Dennis (sister), Richard Earl Carpenter (brother), Dorothy Lucille Chandler (sister), Leroy Wolfe (half-brother), Earl Eugune Carpenter (father), Herman Wolfe (step-father), and Fay Hart Wolfe (mother).
Betty is survived by Theodore James Schultz (husband), Suzanne Teddi Marie Schultz Pick (daughter), Steven Ian Pick (son-in-law), August Jay Lucian Behner (grand-daughter) and Jack Theodore Pick (grandson).
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13th at 10:00AM at North Brevard Funeral Home with Kevin Wright of Faith City Church. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio. Arrangements are by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio.
