Charles E. “Eugene” Perkins, age 77, of Chillicothe, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away February 22, 2025, at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.

Eugene was born January 5, 1948, in The Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia. He graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1966; served Three Tours in Vietnam with the US Marine Corps; member of the Nelsonville VFW; and formerly worked for Asplundh Tree Service.

Surviving are his children, Eugena Guerra, Christina Renee Caldwell Leiter, Michael Paul Williams, Charles Perkins Jr., Vanessa Torres, and Brett Sayre; several grandchildren; brother, Gary Arnold; brother-in-law, Danny Koska; and several nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Earnest J. Perkins; mother, Phyllis Eleanor Drescher Perkins Arnold; wife, Connie Perkins; brothers, Sherman Perkins, Rev. Ernie Perkins, Jim Arnold, and Jon Arnold; and sister, Phyllis Koska.

Funeral services were held at 12 noon Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastor Dave Shoemaker officiating. Burial was in Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel, Ohio.

Calling hours were observed 10 am – 12 noon on Wednesday.

Military graveside services were conducted by the Combined Color Guard.
