Helen Mae Mohney, 99, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away September 30, 2017 at O’Blenness Hospital, Athens, Ohio. Helen was born August 1, 1918 in Nelsonville, Ohio. She was a former member of the VFW in Nelsonville. Surviving are her grandsons, David Mohney of Nelsonville, Shawn Mohney of Nelsonville; granddaughter, Sherry Mohney-Baxley of Florida; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jake, and Jay; and niece, Marlene Frazier. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles “Jake” Mohney; sons, Robert “Bob” Mohney and Charles “Chuck” Mohney; grandsons, Rob Mohney and Nicholas Mohney; granddaughter, Susan Davis; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Inman. Graveside services were held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Arrangements were by Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio.
