Rio Rita Taylor

Rio Rita Taylor, 83, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away January 1, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Rio Rita was born a coal miners daughter on April 28, 1934 in Jobs, Ohio to Donald E. and Gena Mohney. She was a graduate of Murray City High School, class of 1952; graduated from Columbus Business University in 1954; legal secretary for 25 years; attended the former Jobs Church; member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church; pianist for several churches; former member of GWRRA-Chapter X – Nelsonville, Ohio. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Paul H. Taylor; daughters, Paula Ann Vasu of Hilliard, Misha Ann (Ralph) Johnson of Worthington, and Tamra Ann (James) Ashworth of Hilliard; son Brent Allan Taylor of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Brock Vasu, Bryant Vasu, Jaime Ashworth, Hanna Taylor, Samantha Taylor, Evan Sawyer, Taylor Sawyer, Samuel Johnson, and Grace Johnson; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Wolfe of Nelsonville and Katherine (Chad) Cox of Kirkersville; and many cousins and friends. Rio Rita was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, John T. Taylor; mother-in-law, Clara Taylor; son-in-law, Claude Vasu; a cousin raised in the home, Iva Jean Snyder; and her beloved dog Sophie. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Mike Thomas & Rev. Tom Hanning officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
