Richard H. Hardesty, 80, of Logan, Ohio passed away March 5, 2018 at Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio. Richard was born May 9, 1937 in Coonville, Ohio to Harry R. and Ethel Hardesty. He was a member of the Coonville Church and attended Christian Baptist; was a Union member of the Internation Union of Operating Engineers Local #18 for 50 years; and worked for 20 years for Harry Hardesty Trucking. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Carrie Hardesty of Logan; daughters, Conda (Jerry) Barlow of Lancaster, and Joyce Sharpe of Lancaster; son, Royce (Angie) Hardesty of Logan; and grandchildren, Dillon Haresty, Brandon Hardesty, and Jacob Barlow. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Gene Sharpe. Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 9, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio with Rev. James Mathias officiating. Calling hours were observed Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
