Lowell E. Humphrey, age 41, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly June 5, 2023, in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Lowell was born July 20, 1981, in Athens, Ohio. He was the Jack of All Trades, and loved by so many. He touched so many lives, and even helped many into sobriety. He was so funny, loving, and Helpful. He would help others without question, and always made you laugh.
Surviving are his mother, Teresa Cunningham; father, Richard Humphrey; grandma, Nancy Griffin; children, Skyler Hatfield, Dominique Keslar, Sonya Casto, and Lowell “L.J” Humphrey J.R.; grandson, Ryan; sisters, Brandy Griffin, Tia (Bryan) Swinford, and Terra Hamilton; brothers, Steven Miller, Brian (Casey) Shoemaker, and Chris Shoemaker; as Lowell would say, “lots more brothers and sisters by other mothers and fathers;” and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lowell was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Neva & Lowell Griffin; grandfather, Roy Griffin; uncle, Steven Griffin; stepfather, Buddy Cunningham; and brother, James Cunningham.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday June 17, 2023, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Bryan Swinford officiating.
Calling hours were observed 1-3 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with Lowell’s Funeral expenses.
