Robert “Bob” Dean Westerviller, age 56, of Chauncey, Ohio passed away on July 18, 2023, unexpectedly at home.
Bob was born to Carl F. and Sarah F. (Saunders) Westerviller on January 16, 1967, in Nelsonville, Ohio. Bob was known to most as a reputable mechanic as he spent most of his adult life working alongside his son in the family garage. Other friends and family enjoyed their time with him trail riding in the woods behind his house. However, his children remember him most fondly for his enthusiasm for fishing, hunting, and searching for ginseng and arrowheads. Bob found profound joy with his love for gifting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his ex-wife, Durinda Westerviller; and five children, Robin Hawk, Rachel (Robert Sheppard Jr.), Robert Westerviller Jr., Regina (Robert) Sample, and Sarah Westerviller; grandchildren, Jayden, Treyson, Arial, Jacklynn, and Riot; 2 grandchildren to be; and siblings, Mary Simonton, Kathy Rowland, Beverly Dauer, Brenda Barlow, Toni Phillips, Mike Westerviller, Jerry Westerviller, and Douglas Westerviller.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl F. and Sarah F. (Saunders) Westerviller and siblings Carl F. Westerviller Jr., Norma Baltzell, and Billy Westerviller.
Calling hours were held Monday July 31, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio. A private burial took place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
