Gage M. Dye, age 29, of Logan, Ohio, passed away suddenly and far too soon on October 2, 2023.
Gage was born April 29, 1994, in Lancaster Ohio to his parents, Edward Shane and Joy Lynn Dye. He graduated from Miller High School in 2012. He earned a football scholarship to Ohio Dominican University and finished his education at Hocking College. He was a corrections officer for the state of Ohio. Gage was a big man with an even bigger heart that would help anyone, at any time, with no questions asked. He loved his very close family, his pets, going to Michigan Wolverine football games with his dad, and watching the games on TV with his dad. Gage shared a special bond with his mother and with their shared love of animals. He always watched over and protected his sisters. Gage also shared a close bond with his nephews and considered them as if they were his own. He was an avid weightlifter and enjoyed going to the Arnold Classic every year. Gage will be dearly missed by everyone that knew this gentle giant.
Gage is survived by his parents, Edward and Joy Dye of Logan; wife, Stefanie; step son, Alex; sisters, Kassi (Ryan) Anders of Logan, Gracie (Steven) Merk of Logan, and Kaleigh Sikora of Wheeling, WV; nephews, Kale Riggs, Kai Anders, and Brayden Anders of Logan; grandfather, Jim Tippie of Gahanna; grandmother, Joyce Johnson of Columbus; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Gage was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eddie Dye and Joseph Johnson; and grandmother, Astrid Tippie.
Private graveside services for family only were held at Fairview Cemetery of Rockbridge, Ohio following cremation.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Gage on October 22, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Hart of the Hills Event Center on 956 E. Front Street in Logan, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hocking County Humane Society.
