Lester Wayne Douglas, 67, of Carbon Hill, Ohio passed away April 20, 2016 at his home. Lester was born September 7, 1948 in Pittsburg Hollow, Ohio to William Harold and Ilene Douglas. He was a 1966 graduate of Buchtel-York High School; member of the Logan Moose and the Sons of American Legion; and helped start, and worked for 13 years, the Ward Township Fire Department and was the past fire chief. Lester loved hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s, playing poker, watching sports, cooking, and canning; and loved his grandkids and family with all of his heart. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Iris Douglas of Carbon Hill; children, Amy (Troy Bauman) Mobley of Carbon Hill, Robbie (Lacey) Douglas of Carbon Hill, Lori (Casey) Nungester of Carbon Hill, Autumn (Adam) Carlson of Carbon Hill, and Summer (Eddie) Domino of Murray City; grandchildren, Brittni (Ryan Harris) Blair, Zachary (Jane’na) Talbert, Brycen Nungester, Ethan Douglas, Grace Sinnott, Drew Douglas, Kadin Domino, Grady Carlson, Ava Nungester, and Aubrey Domino; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Woolum, Chloe Talbert, and Gus Vaido; and sister, Brenda (James) Ballinger of Nelsonville. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Jesse Sinnott; in-laws, Johnny & Norma Wright; and brother-in-law, Roger Wright. Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Brown Funeral Home Murray City, Ohio with Rev. David Shoemaker and Pastor Dave Edgell officiating. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Saturday from 2-8 pm at the funeral home, with Moose Service at 7:30 pm.
