Ada Jane Holdren, age 81, of Nelsonville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.
Ada was born September 26, 1943, in Hocking County, Ohio to Herbert Lester Little and Evelyn Verna Wright Little. She retired from Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan; member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday School, was Sunday School Treasurer, served on the Church and Sunday School Board, helped with funeral dinners and loved teaching and learning the Bible with her Shebrew friends. She also loved gardening, crocheting, playing phase 10 and her family.
Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Blosser and Sandra Palmer; son, David (Lynn) Holdren Jr.; sister, Lora Blankenship; grandchildren, Katie (Jacob) O’Rourke and Jennifer (Jeremy) Mills; great-grandson, Bradyn Jon O’Rourke, along with several other grand and great-grandchildren; and special friends, Linda “Sissy” Stumbo and Judy & Oscar Dickerson.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Little; brother-in-law, Paul Blankenship; son-in-law, Keith Palmer; and her cat, Reenie and her beloved furry son, Otis.
Funeral services were held at 11 A.M., Wednesday October 9, 2024, at the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastors Andy Stine and Mike Thomas officiating. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed on Wednesday from 10 – 11 A.M. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ada’s Memory to the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, 600 Chestnut St Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.
