Audrey
I. Hewett, 93, of Nelsonville, formerly of Walnut Street, passed
peacefully in the comforts of her home surrounded by loved ones on
Sunday Feb. 28, 2016. She was born November 26, 1922 in Orbiston, OH.
She was the daughter of the late John H. Barnhart and Neva A. Warren
Barnhart.
She attended school in a one room school-house in Chauncey, OH. She
married Bartly E. Hewett in 1957. Prior to marrying, she was employed at
various industries in Sandusky, OH but the majority of her life was
dedicated to homemaking and the care of her children.
She was loved and respected by her community. She loved children,her
flowers and animals of all kind. She had a very “colorful” personality
and a memorable sense of humor. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by daughters: Cherie James of Athens, Oh and Deborah
(Debbie) Tabor of Nelsonville, Oh, grandchildren: Cathy (Ralph)Bauwens,
Pam (Steve) Paulson, Sindy (Jim) Ankeney, Vicky Hurst, Katrina (Matt)
Lankford, Bridget (Chris) Brown, Tim (Lisa) Hurst, Teah (Roger) Bolin,
April (Keith Sears) James, Michael (Carla Balch) James, Tracie (Jordan)
McCoy, 24 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, and special
niece Louise Gilliam. She will be greatly missed by her beloved four
legged companion, Bella.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was proceeded in death by
her siblings, Gene Barnhart, Bill Barnhart, Charles Barnhart, Maxine
Dickens and Katy Hovatter, daughters, Sue West and Kim Hewett, and son
in-law Frank James.
Funeral service were held at 1:00pm Wednesday March 2, 2016 at
Warren-Brown Funeral home, Nelsonville, OH, with Timothy Hurst
officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Calling hours were Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Paula Gaul RN and
Hospice of Kimes for their wonderful care. She so much appreciated the
services of the Meals on Wheels program and the sincere thoughts and
actions of her delivery man Dave.
