Barbara J. Byrge, age 91, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away October 21, 2023, at Buckey Care and Rehabilitation of Lancaster, Ohio.
Barb was born February 26, 1932, in Canton, North Carolina to Mattie Caldwell. She loved raising and feeding the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was very proud to be a fifth-generation grandmother and be able to see them. Barb was known as the Bingo Queen and enjoyed watching gameshows and westerns. Some of her favorites included Family Feud, Deal or no Deal, and Gun Smoke. Barb also enjoyed reading cowboy western novels and spending time with her cats. She was never seen without her Wrigley’s Sugar Free Double Mint chewing gum. Barb was a well-loved and wonderful woman who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her children, Robert Edmonds and Patricia Hoy; grandchildren, Edward Edmonds Jr., Michelle Edmonds, Kelly Edmonds, Judy Edmonds, Robert Edmonds, Bobbi Edmonds, Kara Edmonds, Jeb Edmonds, Ken Edmonds, Patricia Pruitt, Sabrina Levan, Carl Pruitt, and Leroy Pruitt; great-grandsons, Kenny Hull, Aaron Hull, and Alex Marshall; and many other great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Barb was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Edmonds and Arnold Byrge; parents; 3 sons, Eddie Edmonds, Jerry Edmonds, and Steve Edmonds; brother, Odell Petrella; and 3 grandsons, Aaron Edmonds, Aaron Pruitt, and Kenny Marshall.
Graveside services were held at 1:15 P.M., Monday October 30, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Logan, Ohio with Pastor Harvey officiating with burial following.
Calling hours were observed 11 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Monday October 30, 2023, prior to the procession to the cemetery.
