Betty Jane Spears, 71, of Glouster, Ohio
passed away October 10, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus,
Ohio.
Betty was born July 5, 1946 to Jack and Delores Stephenson. She worked for 18
years at Dairy Queen; longtime member of the Glouster Eagles; and loved her DQ
family and her Bingo Buddies. Betty was also known as Dairy Q. Mom and Bingo
Betty.
Surviving are her children, Tina (Mike) Jenkins of Glouster, Tim (Shawna)
Spears of Nelsonville, Heidi (Russell Barnhart) Spears of Athens, Michele (Donald)
Bernard of Shawnee, and Lisa (Fred) Hutchinson of Chillicothe; grandchildren,
Justin Jenkins, Kayla Jenkins, Timmy Spears, Jessica Spears, Chris Spears,
Heather Barnhart, Jacob Barnhart, Matthew Spears, Donald Bernard Jr., Greg
Bernard, Brandon Bernard, Tyler Bernard, Samantha Spears, Brianna Miller,
Hailie Hutchinson, Chelsie Hutchinson, and Darla Hutchinson; and
great-grandchildren, Jaiden Jenkins, Trae Waldeck, Rowan Waldeck, Bentley
Bernard, Cooper Spears, Landen Cydrus, and Hayden Cydrus.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel June Spears, who
passed away in 1996; and sisters, Carlene Scott and Alice Everett.
Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Brown
Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Rev. Elijah Brooks officiating. Burial was
in Beech Grove Cemetery, Glouster, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6-8 pm and 11:00 am
to time of service on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
