The Great Falcon of the United States Air Force has called Airman Charles R. Mettler to take his final flight to his Heavenly Home, to be with his Lord and Savior on October 2, 2022. Airman Mettler served his country during Vietnam. Chuck was born on October 7, 1945, to the late Charles E. and Bessie E. (Hanna) Mettler. Chuck was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed going to Olivedale Senior Center. He collected Coca-Cola memorabilia and enjoyed classic cars. He loved doing yard work and working to provide for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda (Moore) Mettler; children, Grant (Charlena) Mettler, Heidi (Mettler) Groves and her Bostin Terrier, Jasmine, and Joshua (Laura) Mettler; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Tom Mettler of Tennesse, Terry, Roy, and Rex Mettler, Bessie Senig and Bonnie Bash; beloved Yorkies, River, Abby, and Apollo; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Betty and her husband, George Swisher, Rita Mettler, and Maggie Mettler; sister-in-law, Carol Mettler; and brother-in-law, Vince Bash.
The family has opted for cremation with veteran graveside services to be held at a future date at St. John Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.
