Charles E. “Sonny” Huffines, age 83, of Logan, Ohio, passed away March 27, 2021 at his residence.
He was born May 3, 1937 in Gibisonville, Ohio to Roy Huffines and Mary Ricketts Huffines. He served in the US Navy; formerly worked in coal mines and at Metalbestos; was a self employed contractor for several years; member of the Hocking Hills United Methodist Church in Logan; longtime member of the Eagles in Logan; and enjoyed working with youth and remodeling his house.
Surviving are his wife of almost 28 years, Carol “Sue” Huffines; children, Bill (Darlene) Huffines of Logan, Cindi Midkiff of Easley, SC, Chris (Lesia) Huffines of Vinton, and Beverly (Glenn) Scott of Pataskala; several grandchildren and great-grand-children; sister Bertye Donaldson of Logan; step-children, Michelle Kemper of Reidsville, NC, Pam (Tom) Rhoads of Logan, Lori (Jason) Quier of Logan, and Dan (Cammie) Starner of Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara Huffines; son Robbin Huffines; and siblings, Veronica Wray, Irene Sheets, Cleona Ralston, Jack Huffines, Lewis Huffines, Juanita Kline, Fern Shull, Ethel Dennis, and Harry Huffines.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Charlene Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Gibisonville, Ohio. Military Graveside services were conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Calling hours were observed 11 am – 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are required to attend.
