It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Ann Shumaker, 61, of Union Furnace. Cheryl went home to Jesus on January 21, 2021 at her residence after a battle with cancer. Cheryl was born to Sylvia Jean Beaty and Charles Roger Beaty on June 2, 1959. She was a lifelong member of the Union Furnace United Methodist Church. She led the children’s choir, Wonderful Wednesday Youth, Vacation Bible School, among many other things and touching the lives of so many around her. It was her mission to spread the word and love of Jesus and she did just that.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Darrell Shumaker; one son Shanen “Shane” Shumaker; daughter-in-law and caregiver Caitlyn Shumaker; 5 grandchildren; her parents; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Cheryl is preceded in death by an infant granddaughter; infant sister; and her grandparents William “Bill” Wyskiver and Mary Wavalene Wyskiver.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Union Furnace United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Union Furnace United Methodist Church, Union Furnace, Ohio.
Arrangements were by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
