Clyde H. Campbell

Clyde H. Campbell, 75, of Nelsonville, Ohio passed away on September 4, 2017 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was surrounded by his wife and family as he was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven. Clyde was born on May 7, 1942 in Carbon Hill, Ohio to Clyde C. and Lora Jane Campbell. He was a 1960 graduate of Nelsonville High School and received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Hocking College. He served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. Clyde spent 25 years working at the Poston Power Plant and retired from AEP in 2002 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nelsonville and the Scenic Hills Senior Center in Logan. Though his body was weak, his spirit remained strong. He was full of love and appreciation for his wife, family and friends and continued to be dearly grateful for each day spent with them throughout his illness. He maintained his sense of humor and positive attitude until the end. His many stories, wisdom, advice and quick wit will be so deeply missed. He is loved beyond words, and he loved back just as deeply. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Diane (Dupler) Campbell; daughter Cathy (Steve) Witt of Powell; sons Cliff (Shannon) Campbell of Lenoir City, TN, Shane (Carrie) Campbell of Grove City, Lance (Traci and her daughters Laquisha and Kiara) Campbell of Logan; grandchildren Jessica, Colton, Jennifer, Clay, Isabelle, Jacob, Seth, Parker; brother Gary (Karen) Campbell of Nelsonville; Sister Susie (Charles) Anderson of Dresden; and many nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Alverta Dupler. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio. The services were officiated by Reverend Steve Dupler and Reverend Mark Dupler. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made, in Clyde’s memory, to the Scenic Hills Senior Center, 187 S. Spring St. Logan, Ohio 43138.
