David “Dave” Dale Lyons, age 63, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family January 11, 2022, at his home, after a long illness.
Dave was born December 18, 1958, at Sheltering Arms Hospital in Athens, Ohio to Rev. David and Dorothy Lyons. He was raised in Chauncey, Ohio. Dave was a proud Army veteran that served two years. For many years, Dave drove trucks for Mark VanDyke and Jim Robson. He also loved shooting and collecting guns, especially his M1911. He always carried the M1911 with him, if he was going to have his license to carry, he was going to use it.
Dave is survived by his loving and very patient wife of 27 years, Tammy Hart-Lyons; 3 sons, David, Brian, and Terry Lyons; 2 daughters, Rachel (Justin Campbell) Lyons and Hayley (Brendan Moder) Lyons; two sisters, Janet (Rich) Wion and Mary (Joe Cooper) Snow; father-in-law, Joe Hart; mother-in-law Freda Hart; 2 brothers-in-law, Joey and Lee Hart; 2 sisters-in-law, Pam and Jessica Hart; 4 grandchildren, Mason, Stella, Owen, and Tessa; sisters-in-law, Marta Kay Lyons and Bobbie Sue Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.
Dave is preceded in death by father, Rev. David Lyons; mother, Dorothy E. Lyons; 3 brothers, Charles “Dick” Lyons, Larry Lyons, and Jim (Loretta) Lyons; daughter-in-law, Tracy Lyons; and 2 brothers-in-law, Marvin Snow and Terry Hart.
Calling hours were held between 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on January 14, 2022, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Funeral Services were held at 1:00 PM on January 14, 2022, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio with Brother Phillip Foster officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens, Athens, Ohio.
