David “Shorty” A. Higgins, age 72, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away February 11, 2024, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan, Ohio.
Shorty was born December 21, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio to David D. Higgins and Helen I. Higgins. Shorty was a member of the Eagles and Moose. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to music, playing euchre, and motorcycles. Shorty loved to go out to hang with the boys and be the life of the party.
Surviving are his spouse, Natasha Higgins; children, Chelsea Myers, Tosha (Joe) Gardner, and Mike Higgins; grandchildren, Joey, Gage, Wyatt, Brooklyn, Shelby, Cheyenne, and Dacia; great-grandson, J.J.; brother, Murl Davis; sisters, Patty Carmean and Roxye Walton; many nieces and nephews; and dog, Tony.
Shorty was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tenny Foster; brother, Paul Davis; and aunts, Juanita Fisher and Garnet “Higgins.”
Funeral services were held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial was in the New Plymouth Cemetery, New Plymouth, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday February 19, 2024, and 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. on Tuesday February 20, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
