Donald E. Springer Sr., age 93, of Rockbridge, Ohio, passed away December 13, 2023, at his residence.
Donald was born December 24, 1929, in Lancaster, Ohio to Joseph L. and Esther L. Springer. He was a 1947 graduate of Rockbridge High School; a US Army Veteran; attended Union Church, Rockbridge, Ohio; after nearly 50 years of Police Officer service, he became the Chief of Police for Sugar Grove; and he greatly loved his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughter, Elizabeth A. (Pat) Loew; sons, Donald E. (Tina) Springer Jr, Kenneth A. (Sharon) Springer, and Timothy L. Springer; daughter-in-law, Nancy Springer; sisters, Ruth E. Hizey, Joyce l. Webb, and Janet S. Marks; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; spouses; son, Michael l. Springer; brothers, Thomas A. Decker and Carl A. Decker; and sister, Sandra L. Paskin.
Services for Donald were held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, with Calling Hours from 1 to 4 PM, with Military Services and Fraternal Order of Police Services following the Calling Hours.
All services were held at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
