Donald S. Allison

Donald S. Allison, 82, of Lancaster, formerly of Logan, peacefully joined his heavenly friends and family on January 16, 2025, after a brief stay at the Pickering House.

Don was born in Logan on January 26, 1942, to the late Arch and Nellie Kline Allison.

He was employed by Kroger for 43 years spending the majority of years in management.  He enjoyed serving the community and being a part of the “Kroger Family”.

Don was blessed to have MANY wonderful friends. He loved spending time with his buddies: years of Nascar races; squirrel camp adventures with lots of pie eating; motorcycle trips; and lots of laughs with his Wednesday night card group.

In his more recent years Don was enjoying his daily breakfast at Jack’s with the clan and being a Hocking County Tour guide with his close friend Ernie Norris along for the ride.

Don also enjoyed collecting cars. In particular, El Caminos. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Don made a point to reach out to friends and family annually to acknowledge their birthdays. Another way of showing he cared.

Survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Billie. He is also survived by his son, Curtis (Jane) Allison; daughter, Kathy (Mark) Cunningham; grandchildren, Alec Johnson (Kaitlyn Gretz) and Allison Johnson; bonus grandson, Adam Cunningham (Ava Thom); great-granddaughter, Aviana; sisters, Liz (Don) Helber and Kay (Mike) Villers; and brother, Delmar (Karen) Allison.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his beloved brother, Ray (Pat) Allison.

Per Don’s request, no funeral service will be held. In his memory a donation can be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130.

Arrangements are by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan.
