Donna J. Giffin, age 91, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away May 23, 2023, at her residence.
Donna was born June 1, 1931, in Nelsonville, Ohio to Henry Levering and Goldie Smith Levering. She was a teacher in the Nelsonville-York Schools for over 30 years; was a member of the former Independent Holiness Church; and played the piano in the church for many years.
Surviving are her son, David (Cathy) Giffin of Nelsonville; daughter, Jody (Bryan) Kilbarger of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Rachel Kilbarger (Lincoln Adams), Cannon (Makinsey) Kilbarger, Eric (Kelly) Giffin, and Chris (Johanna) Giffin. great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Giffin, Elizabeth Alvis, Colton Giffin, Ashlyn Giffin, Jackson Giffin, Rose Giffin, Kali Kilbarger, Thea Adams, and Lily Kilbarger; granddaughter-in-law, Courtney Giffin; sister, Mary Jo Scott of Nelsonville; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard D. “Russ” Giffin, who passed away February 7, 2005; grandson, Allan Giffin; brothers, Orville, Samuel, Charles, Reginald, and Paul Levering; an infant brother; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don & Betty Giffin.
Graveside services were held at 2 P.M., Tuesday May 30, 2023, at the Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Arrangements are by Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Nelsonville High School Scholarship Fund.
