Eleanor Joan Carter Cox (92) of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away May 25, 2023.
Joan was born December 2, 1930, to Edward Ross Carter and Edna Bell Hartman Carter. She worked for Nelsonville Home and Savings and was a faithful member of the Nelsonville United Methodist Church. Joan was married to William R Cox, who preceded her.
Also preceding her were her parents and siblings, Edna June (William) Watkins, Bernard (Roberta) Carter, Robert Carter and William Carter; grandson Matthew Alan Berry; and great-granddaughter, Dorothy Dee Forgrave.
Surviving are her children, Patricia Jeanne Cox Clark and her husband, David Clark, Steven Edward Cox and his wife, Debra Ward Cox, and Sharon Lee Cox Berry and her husband, Dean A. Berry; grandchildren, Jacqueline “Jacci” Nicole Clark, Rebecca Jo (Wayne) Dicken, Kyle David (Alexis) Berry, Kelly Dee (Cort) Forgrave, and Casey William (Kaleigh) Cox; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Bianca Gerity, Eleanor and Grant Forgrave and Tanner and Cooper Cox. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Delores (Elza) Sapp; and sisters-in-law, Ruby Carter and Remona Carter and; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 11:00 am at Greenlawn Cemetery, 15550 Elm Rock Rd, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. David Roach officiating.
Arrangements are by Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio.
