Frances Ruth Sabo 73, of Murray City, Ohio passed away October 29, 2014, at her residence. Frances was born January 6, 1941 in Murray City Ohio to Louis and Elizabeth Sabo. She was a 1959 graduate of Murray City High School where she received awards for scholastic achievement; formerly worked at Goodyear in Logan, was a deli supervisor at Publix grocery store in North Fort Myers, FL; worked and retired from Ohio University food service; member of the Murray City Alumni Planning Committee; known as one of the Murray City “Golden Girls” and appeared in many of the area parades. Surviving are her husband, Gail W. Cox, who she married in 1987; brother, Theodore “Ted” Sabo of Athens; sister-in-law, Wanda Sabo of Nelsonville; nieces and nephews, Jackie Duffy of Nelsonville, David (Pamela) Duffy of Logan, Cheryl (Don) Skinner of Athens, Randy Sabo of Guysville, Cindy White of The Plains, Mark (Cindy) Sabo Zanesville, Keith Sabo of Shade, Cathy Ward, and Jennifer of Reynoldsburg. great nieces and nephews, Kevin Storkan of California, Ryan Duffy, Bradley Skinner, Sonya Sexton, and Jill Sabo-Toth; step-children Kelly Gallagan, Diane Bowen and Steve Cox.; her dog-Susie; and best friend Avis “Meechy” Yates (the last of the Murray City “Golden Girls”). Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Elizabeth “Betty” Sabo; sister, Betty Jane Duffy; brothers, Luke Sabo & Joseph Sabo; sisters-in-law, Thelma Sabo and Matilda Sabo; and great-niece, Jesica Storkan. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Saturday November 8, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. A memorial pot luck was held in Murray City after the services. All friends and family were welcome to celebrate the life of this beloved lady. Calling hours were observed Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
