Gilbert Steven “Grizz” Adams, 64, of Logan, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2021, at his home.
Steve was born on May 10, 1957, in Nelsonville, Ohio. After graduating from Logan High School in 1976 he attended Hocking College where he received his paramedic certification. He was one of the original employees of Hocking County EMS, where he began his career in 1977. He retired after 27 years of service to the citizens of Hocking County. Steve was also a volunteer firefighter for the City of Logan for 10 years and an instructor in the paramedic program at Hocking College.
After retirement, Steve led a quiet life taking walks with his dog Babe and enjoyed a daily visit with his dear friend Tom Davis, who passed away in 2019. Steve enjoyed fishing and would go with friends on fishing excursions whenever he could. He was Commander of the Sons of the American Legion and a life-time member of the Sons of the Am Vets # 1776.
Steve is predeceased by his mother, Florene Adams; and sister and brother-in-law, Villa and Chuck Glick.
He is survived by his brothers, Gene (Anne) Adams of Jamestown, Ohio, Keith Adams of Columbus, Ohio, and Kelly (Linda Blackburn) Adams of Logan, Ohio. He leaves behind nieces and nephews, Michael, Stephen, Amy, Kristin, Emily, and Zach; as well as nine great nieces and great nephews.
Calling hours took place at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday December 18, 2021, with the service immediately following.
