Harry Eugene Guda, age 92, of Rockbridge, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5,2023, at his home surrounded by family.
Born Aug. 22,1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Harry L. Guda and Francis S. (Annis) Guda.
He attended Purdue University, where he met his wife Jane, and graduated with a degree in political science. Harry was a Korean War veteran as a lieutenant JG in the U.S. Navy. He attended Ohio State University where he graduated from medical school with a specialty in psychiatry.
Harry is survived by his wife, Jane W. Guda; children, Juliette (Dennis Savage) Guda of South Bloomingville, Mark (Suzanne) Guda of Athens, Sarah (Jeff) Cromwell of Granville, and Amy Guda of Logan; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many good friends and neighbors.
He had a private practice in Columbus and worked for the State of Ohio in southeastern Ohio mental health clinics and hospitals.
As a retiree Harry enjoyed getting out in the community and talking about health and teaching children science at schools and libraries.
As a father and husband, he was always up for exploring the world searching for fossils, arrowheads, and the meaning of life.
