Homer Doug Carrel, 73, of Rockbridge, Ohio passed away August 9, 2018 at Logan Care And Rehabilitation, Logan, Ohio. Homer was born July 21, 1945 in Rockbridge, Ohio to Ernest and Ann Carrel. He was a seller at Rockbridge Flea Market. Surviving are his wife of 47 years Thelma Carrel; sons, David L. Carrel of Millcreek, WV and Joe L. Carrel of Rockbridge; grandchildren, Nathan, Veronica, and Dakota; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Dino Carrel of Enterprise; and sisters, Wanda Petty and Edna Brown both of Lancaster. Homer was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Dorothy Young, Vernie Carrel, Alvie Carrel, Truby Carrel, and Scotty Carrel. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. David Edgell officiating. Burial was in Morgan Chapel, Rockbridge, Ohio. Calling hours were observed Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
